Il Querceto

The farmastay “ Il Querceto” is an old Tuscan farm situated in the south corner of the district of Pisa, in the middle of the quiet country of the Upper Cecina valley. Built on a headland of the Metalliferous Hills, the farmstay rises above the River Cecina valley and the wildlife reserve of Berignone-Tatti, 3 Km away from Pomarance, one of the oldest medieval hamlets of the whole area.On the ground floor stands a room equipped for disabled persons (double-bed and bathroom) with its own indipendent entrance.
The apartments “La Rocca” and “La Miniera” have their own indipendent entrance and both are provided with kitchen-sitting room (wiuth sofa-bed) and double-bed room with bathroom.
Moreover, in the apartement “La Rocca” you may also fond a single-bed room where it is possible to have an extra bed (on demand only!).Outside the farmstay you will find a wide natural meadow, a kitchen-garden with season fruits and vegetables, an old stone oven, the barbecue and a wide terrace, with tables, for breakfast or dinner in the open air.
Moreover, deck-chairs and chiase-longues will allow you to enjoy the relaxing stillness of the Tuscan country.

Our family-run farm raises cattle, sheep, pigs and courtyard animals (chicken, hens and rabbits) and cultivates a variety of grains, olives and fruits (apples, apricots, peaches, plums and a small vineyard of table grapes). A relaxing stay at our farm residence helps you to better understand and appreciate the Tuscan countryside and our farming traditions; you can take leisurely walks through the fields where our cattle and their calves graze in the pastures; you can embark on the didactic trails with environmental, archaeological and geological themes in the Berignone-Tatti Nature Reserve that is a short distance from our farm residence; you can ride a mountain bike alongside vineyards and olive groves; you can go horseback riding on well-marked trails; you can reach the Cecina River by foot in just a few minutes where you can bathe in its crystal waters; but you can also do absolutely nothing and relax in the lawn that surrounds our farm house, gazing at the beautiful views and immersing yourself in the singular silence of this Tuscan paradise from sunrise to sunset.
Pomarance’s central location also offers more classic itineraries: with a short drive you can visit the famous Towers of San Gimignano (30 minutes), the Piazza del Campo in Siena (one hour), the Leaning Tower of Pisa (one hour and 15 minutes), Florence (about an hour and half) and the beaches of the Tyrrhenian Coast (30 minutes).
